It is a natural anti-inflammatory which helps with any kind of joint pains. It is full of amazing GOOD fats such as Omega-3 fatty acid DHA, which is crucial   for healthy brain functions. It can also help with improving vision and even sleep too. Salmon can prevent depression, heart attack, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, stroke, and arrhythmia. You can get one days worth of Vitamin D within one piece of salmon. A deficiency of Vitamin D has actually been found to be linked to an increase risk of Type 1 Diabetes, so it can be very important (for non-diabetics as well) to keep up with your vitamin intake.

One of my favorite things are evening beach runs. Before being diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic, I was an avid marathon competitor and runner. Now I’m in the process of training for my next marathon, but this time it will be my first race as a T1D! Lots of new things to adapt to. And with the paleo lifestyle that I follow for my blood sugars, it also helps me feel amazing on my runs. Running is a great blood sugar stabizer; however, I always carry my gel packets for carbs and created a loop system so that I can check my blood sugars throughout my long runs.
