This Christmas I am spreading Diabetic Awareness to Santa by giving him cookies “Type Happy” style. I decorated classic sugar cookies related to Type 1 Diabetes. As tradition, my family and I spend the night before Christmas baking and decorating cookies for Santa. As much as I wish these were paleo sugar-free cookies, they are not.. But it was so much fun to decorate as a family and to bring the awareness to everyone that eats them. The holidays can be hard for us diabetics with food everywhere and constantly having to make sure that we stay on top of our insulin corrections before eating those holiday sweets. Additionally, it gets redundant having to explain to people that Type 1 Diabetics can in fact have sweets! Day 24 of the Type Happy Holiday Challenge is to find your way of spreading Type One Awareness to others during this hard time in the holidays for diabetics.
Merry Christmas Eve everyone and Happy Holidays!!
